Glorious summer weather and a jovial atmosphere greeted netball enthusiasts at The Pingle Academy this Wednesday, setting the perfect backdrop for Week 3 of our friendly social netball season. A truly inclusive environment was on display as players of all experience levels came together to enjoy a night filled with camaraderie, sportsmanship, and some great netball action on the court.
The first match saw Nets Go and Block And Shot showcasing their fantastic teamwork and relentless commitment. Both teams played with great spirit, maintaining positive energy throughout the game. Block And Shot finished the game with an impressive score of 22-9, a testament to their drive and dedication, with Nets Go showing true sportsmanship until the very end.
In the second match, Get The Rebound and Hoopsie Daisy demonstrated the essence of social netball: friendship, support, and fun. A well-fought game ensued, with Get The Rebound edging out a 13-8 win. However, the scoreline was secondary to the joy of the game for both teams, as they played with smiles on their faces and laughter ringing around the court.
Hoops I Did It Again and Wildcats commanded the court in the third match. Both teams played an exciting and closely contested game, ending with a razor-thin margin of 15-14 in favor of Hoops I Did It Again. Amid the cheers and high-fives, it was clear that the game was enjoyable for everyone involved, irrespective of the score.
A special mention must be made for Claire Bailey from Hoopsie Daisy, who was named the Most Valued Player this week. Claire's constant enthusiasm, excellent movement around the court, and positive contributions to her team were widely appreciated. Her spirit truly embodied the joy of social netball, delighting not just her teammates but opponents and spectators alike.
As we look forward to Week 4, we eagerly anticipate another evening of friendly social netball. No matter the experience or skill level, all are welcome to join us in staying active, meeting new friends, and developing netball skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. So, lace up those trainers and let’s keep the netball joy going. See you all next week!
