The warm glow of the floodlights at The King's School became the backdrop for an enjoyable evening of social netball in Week 5 of the season. The atmosphere was lively yet welcoming, as players of all experience levels gathered under the lit court, sharing laughs and camaraderie on a cool Worcester Sunday night. The spirit of friendly competition was in the air as our much-loved netball teams hit the court.
The first match saw the Spice Goals and the Cobras play a nail-bitingly close game, with the Cobras edging out their opponents 13-9. It was a match filled with exciting moments and brilliant displays of talent and persistence from both teams. The evening was enveloped with cheers and applause for this beautiful game played in excellent spirits.
The Seven Wonders and Rebounders also had their chance to shine under the bright lights. The Seven Wonders wrapped up the game with a score of 18-5. However, the score was just a small part of the evening's story, with both teams exemplifying great sportsmanship, positive energy, and the sheer joy of playing netball.
The last match of the night saw the Toxic Goals and On The Attack come together in a showcase of teamwork and commitment. With swift passing, and intelligent play, Toxic Goals finished the game with an impressive score of 19-8. Yet, both teams displayed admirable sportsmanship and great energy, making for a truly enjoyable game.
A special cheer sounded for Amelia Maciag from On The Attack who was recognised as the Most Valued Player of the week. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and her movement around the court was a dance of precision and agility. Amelia's contribution was not only appreciated by her teammates but also by opponents, proving once again that netball is as much about the people as it is about the sport.
As we look ahead to Week 6, we eagerly anticipate another evening of friendly social netball. We welcome all to join us in keeping active, meeting new people, and developing netball skills in a supportive environment. No matter the experience level, there's a place on the court for everyone. It's not just about the game; it's about the shared experience, the memories made, and, most importantly, the fun. Welcome to our Back to Netball community!
