In a thrilling start to the season, the Pershore Wednesday Social Netball League witnessed a riveting contest between the teams of the Premier League division. The opening week of the season was packed with adrenaline-pumping action, skilled display, and some nail-biting finishes.
Diva's and Pivots kick-started the league, with Pivots taking a 27–11 victory over Diva's. The Pivots exhibited a tremendous performance, setting a high standard for the other teams in the league, displaying their intent to top the Premier League.
The second match of the evening was a close affair between Pershore Pic N Mix and Pocket Rockets, with Pocket Rockets ultimately triumphing 22-16. The Pershore Pic N Mix put up a spirited fight but fell short in the closing stages of the game.
Lastly, the Hooper's faced the Killer Queens, who emerged victorious with a 16-9 scoreline. Despite the loss, the Hooper's showcased a stellar individual performance, notably by Leanne Morris who was named the most valued player of the week. Morris's high-energy efforts and skilled play were the highlight of the Hooper's performance.
As the season has just begun, it's too early to say who will end up on top, but with the level of competition witnessed so far, it's shaping up to be an exciting season. The top scorers for the week were Pivots from the Premier League.
