The seventh week of the Pershore Wednesday Netball brought another evening of competitive matches, with teams producing some closely contested games.
The first match saw the Diva’s take on the Pivots. Both teams started strongly, but the Pivots gradually built momentum and were able to break through the Diva’s defence to secure a 26–13 win. Their organised play and consistent scoring helped them take control of the game.
Next up were the Pocket Rockets and Pershore Pic N Mix in a closely fought match. It remained tight throughout, with both sides showing great effort and teamwork. In the end, the Pocket Rockets edged ahead to take a 15–12 victory.
The final game of the evening featured the Hooper’s against the Killer Queens. It proved to be a very evenly matched contest, with the lead changing hands several times. Despite a strong performance from the Hooper’s, the Killer Queens narrowly secured the win, finishing 12–11.
A standout performance this week came from Jenny Butlin of the Hooper’s, whose strong contribution on court earned her the title of Most Valued Player. Her performance was a highlight of the evening and a great example of the skill on display across the league.
As the Pershore Wednesday league moves into week eight, teams will be looking to build on their performances and continue the competitive spirit seen so far.
