The inkling of Autumn chill didn't deter the players who turned out in droves for an enjoyable evening of social netball at the Oakengates Leisure Centre last Tuesday. It marked the beginning of the season—a warm, welcoming atmosphere brimming with players of all experience levels, coming together for a great night of netball. The season is just beginning, providing a perfect chance for players and teams to ease back into the wonderful world of netball.

In the Premier League group, the Wrekin Warriors and Spice Goals kicked off the night with a lively game, finishing with a score of 15-8. Both teams demonstrated fantastic teamwork and commitment, with the game played in earnest yet positive spirits.

Swift Shooters and She's A Keeper took the court next, ending the game with a score of 10-12, respectively. Both teams displayed extraordinary sportsmanship and positive energy throughout the match, embodying the essence of what social netball is all about.

Nets Get Physical and Just Wing It were next in line, concluding their game with a score of 22-4. Despite the score difference, both teams showcased great spirit and enthusiasm, reminding everyone that it’s the love of the game that matters most.

The Hoop Hustlers and Love At First Pass wrapped up the evening, finishing with scores of 6-8. This game was a testament to the camaraderie and positive attitudes on and off the court, underlining the real essence of social netball.

A special mention goes to Charlie Whitehouse from Love At First Pass, who was named the Most Valued Player of the week. His enthusiasm and movement around the court were truly remarkable, making a positive contribution that was appreciated by teammates and opponents alike.

Looking ahead to Week 2, we anticipate another evening of friendly social netball. It's not just about the netball, but about staying active, meeting new people, and developing skills in a nurturing and supportive environment.
