As the sun went down on Tuesday, the Oakengates Leisure Centre was bathed in the warm, friendly atmosphere of another social netball evening. Week 13 of the season proved that the enthusiasm for the game was still going strong, with players of all experience levels coming together to enjoy a memorable night of netball.
The first game of the evening saw the Hoop Hustlers playing against Just Wing It. The final score reflected a lively and engaging game with Just Wing It finishing with a comfortable lead of 15-8. Both teams displayed an excellent spirit of sportsmanship and commitment, making it an enjoyable game for everyone involved.
Next, the Wrekin Warriors faced off against She's A Keeper in a match that was filled with positive energy and brilliant teamwork. In a closely contested game, She's A Keeper emerged with a score of 17-14. Despite the result, the Warriors were all smiles, epitomizing the essence of what social netball is all about.
Finally, the Swift Shooters and Spice Goals stepped onto the court. Spice Goals, with their vibrant style of play, managed to finish the game with a score of 14-4. Swift Shooters, however, did not let the scoreline dampen their spirits and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the game.
A special mention goes to Anna Barraco from Spice Goals, who was named the Most Valued Player of the week. Her enthusiasm was infectious and her movement around the court was commendable. Anna's positive contribution was noticed and appreciated by teammates and opponents alike, making her a worthy recipient of the accolade.
Looking ahead to Week 14, we are excited to welcome everyone back for another evening of friendly social netball.
