Play in the Royal Leamington Spa Thursday You Play Netball League

The new season of the Royal Leamington Spa Thursday You Play Netball League got underway at Campion School, with Week 1 bringing teams back onto the court for another season of social netball. It was a positive start to the new season, with players getting back into competitive action and enjoying the opportunity to play against different teams.

The first match of the evening saw Goal Diggas take on Wingin It. Goal Diggas put together a strong performance and finished the game with a 21-10 victory. They worked well as a team throughout the match, creating scoring opportunities and maintaining their lead. Wingin It continued to compete and worked hard across the court, keeping the game moving and showing good team spirit.

Next up were Pass N Pivot and Pivot Panthers. Pass N Pivot came away with a convincing 25-3 win after a strong performance. They were effective in attack and converted their opportunities well throughout the game. Pivot Panthers continued to work hard and showed good determination, competing throughout the fixture and keeping the game going until the final whistle.

The first week of the new season also gave players the chance to settle back into the league and get used to playing together again. As the season progresses, we look forward to seeing teams build on their performances and continue to develop their skills while enjoying their weekly games.

A special mention goes to the Most Valued Player of the evening. Their enthusiasm, movement around the court and contribution to the game were recognised during the evening. Congratulations on being named MVP for Week 1.

A reminder to all teams that the Royal Leamington Spa Thursday league is a Back to Netball league, designed for social players who want to return to netball, continue playing or simply enjoy a regular game with friends. The league is open to players of different experience levels, but we do not allow county or divisional players to take part. This helps us maintain the social level of the league and ensures it remains suitable for the players it is intended for.

We also ask all teams to remember the importance of playing in the right spirit. Please respect your teammates, opponents and umpires throughout every fixture. The aim is to enjoy the game, get some exercise and provide a welcoming environment for everyone taking part.

With Week 1 now complete, we look forward to welcoming all the teams back to Campion School for Week 2. There is still plenty of netball to come this season, and we hope to see the teams continue to enjoy their weekly fixtures and build on their performances.
