As the sun set on a warm spring evening, Burntwood Leisure Centre buzzed with excitement for another night of social netball. Week 9 of the season saw a lively gathering of both veterans and newcomers to the game, all embracing the night of camaraderie and friendly competition in the spirit of the game they all love.
The first match of the evening saw the Flaming Divas and Purple Panthers sharing the spotlight. The game ended in a harmonious 13-13 tie, a testament to both teams' dedication and teamwork. The players moved effortlessly across the court, their positive energy infectious and appreciated by all spectators.
In the second match, Burntwood 7's and Shoot For It came together for an engaging game. Burntwood 7's concluded the game with a score of 47-12, a reflection of their commitment and the fun they had on court. The sportsmanship and teamwork displayed by Shoot For It, despite the scoreline, was truly commendable.
In the final match, Bluebirds and Spice Goals showcased a spectacular display of netball. Bluebirds finished the game with a score of 17-7. The match was played in great spirit, with players from both teams demonstrating excellent sportsmanship and positive energy throughout the game.
The Most Valued Player of the week honor was deservedly awarded to Katy Hopwood of Nets Go. Katy's enthusiasm, smooth movement around the court, and positive contribution to the game didn’t go unnoticed by her teammates, opponents, and the spectators alike.
As we look towards Week 10, we anticipate another enjoyable evening of friendly social netball. It's not just about the game; it's about keeping active, meeting new people, and developing netball skills in a supportive environment.
