In a thrilling start to the Burntwood Sunday 7-a-side netball league season, the Premier League division showcased intense matchups and standout performances. The league, which kicked off last night, witnessed formidable teams battling it out, setting the tone for what promises to be an exhilarating season.

Under the floodlights, Spice Goals took on A Little Rusty in a nail-biting contest. Despite a brave effort, Spice Goals couldn't withstand the tide as A Little Rusty clinched a 15-12 victory in a game that had spectators on the edge of their seats.

Purple Panthers roared into the season with a 12-7 victory over Bluebirds, demonstrating their dominance from the onset. The Panthers' precision passing and exceptional defence were pivotal in their win against a tenacious Bluebird side.

Nets Go, meanwhile, set the court alight with a 23-13 triumph over Burntwood 7's. Their incredible shooting accuracy and fluid movement across the court underlined their status as a team to watch this season.

But, it was Nether Belles' Megan Shirley who stole the show this week. Voted as the most valued player, Shirley's stellar performance exemplified teamwork and sportsmanship, propelling her team to a well-deserved 19-7 victory over Destructive Divas.

In the most closely contested match of the evening, Goal Diggers fell short to Flaming Divas in a thrilling 25-20 showdown. This high-scoring game was a testament to both teams' attacking prowess, promising an exciting season ahead.
