The Burntwood Sunday Netball League burst into action yesterday as the first week of the new season got underway. Teams in the Premier League and Division 1 divisions showcased breathtaking performances that kept spectators on their toes throughout the night.

In the Premier League, Burntwood 7's demonstrated their skills by outscoring Nether Belles with a final score of 20-11. Their precision and teamwork made for a thrilling game, setting the bar high for the season. On another court, Goal Diggers dug deep and clinched a win against Flaming Divas with a 21-14 victory, proving they're a team to watch this season.

Meanwhile, Division 1's opening matches were equally as electrifying. Purple Panthers roared their way to the top with a 22-10 triumph over Destructive Divas. Not to be outdone, A Little Rusty brushed off any cobwebs with a solid 24-10 victory against Spice Goals.

The standout player of the week was the Bluebirds' Sarah Lines. Lines' performance was nothing short of extraordinary, earning her the title of Most Valued Player. Her agility, accuracy and game sense were pivotal in her team's performance, making her a key player to watch this season.

As we move into the rest of the season, the top scorers for Premier League are Burntwood 7's and for Division 1, A Little Rusty holds the title.
