What a heartwarming evening it was at Brookvale Groby Learning Centre, as lively chatter permeated the air, and the spirit of community shone brightly under the floodlights. Welcome to Week 9 of the season where players of all experience levels, from the keen beginner to the seasoned veteran, gathered for an evening of friendly social netball. A charming tableau of teamwork, commitment, and sportsmanship was very much evident as the night unfolded.
The first match had Smack That Pass and Lionesses face each other in a display of camaraderie and fun. The game ended with Smack That Pass securing a score of 8 while Lionesses made a commendable effort with a score of 4. The game was a delightful blend of positive energy and competitive spirit.
Next, the All Stars and the Groby Girls took to the court. The Groby Girls finished the game with a score of 14 with their unyielding teamwork, while the All Stars, displaying equal commitment and sportsmanship, ended with a score of 5. Indeed, an enjoyable game played in great spirit!
The final match of the evening was between Fireflies and Kiss My Pass. A suspenseful game, it ended with the Kiss My Pass slightly ahead with 12 points to Fireflies' 11. Proving once again, no matter the score, the real victory lay in the fun and camaraderie shared on the court.
A special mention must be made of our Most Valued Player of the evening. Their enthusiasm was contagious, their movement around the court was nothing short of poetry in motion, and their positive contribution to the game was appreciated by teammates and opponents alike.
As we wrap up Week 9, we eagerly look forward to the next evening of friendly social netball in Week 10.
