An evening filled with laughter, camaraderie and a healthy dose of competition graced the Brookvale Groby Learning Centre last Thursday. This was Week 7 of the social netball season, a night where participants of all experience levels gathered to share in the love of the game. The welcoming atmosphere was electric, the court alive with enthusiastic players, and the spirit of friendly competition was in the air.

The first match saw the Lionesses take on the Groby Girls, a game that truly exhibited the essence of sportsmanship. The Groby Girls finished the evening with a score of 20, while the Lionesses had one goal to their name. But what stood out was the palpable display of unwavering commitment from both teams and the positive energy that permeated throughout the game.

Kiss My Pass and Smack That Pass were next, engaging in a lively match that ended with a score of 13-9 in favour of Kiss My Pass. The highlight of this game was the exceptional teamwork shown by both entities. Despite the scoreline, each team displayed a commendable spirit, which made the game a joy to watch.

Finally, the All Stars and Fireflies took to the court. Fireflies completed their match with a score of 8, surpassing the All Stars who had a score of 5. This game was both enjoyable and competitive, with all players showcasing excellent movement around the court in a display of pure netballing joy.

A special mention must go to our Most Valued Player of the week, Hannah Stavrou from the Lionesses. Her enthusiasm, agility, and positive attitude both on and off the court were noted and appreciated by both her teammates and opponents.

As we look ahead to Week 8, we continue to anticipate another evening filled with friendly competition, physical activity, and the opportunity to meet new people. Brookvale Groby Learning Centre is not just about developing netball skills, but about fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, where everyone is welcome. After all, it's not just about playing the game, but about the friendships made and the fun had along the way.
