The Brookvale Groby Learning Centre was abuzz with excitement as Week 5 of the social netball season unfolded. The evening was filled with camaraderie, laughter, and high spirits as players, both seasoned and newbies, hit the court showing their passion for the game. The welcoming atmosphere resonated around the centre as the friendly games progressed, setting the stage for a truly memorable evening of social netball.
The first game saw All Stars and Smack That Pass sharing the court. The match ended with an exciting final score of 10-7 in favour of Smack That Pass. Both teams demonstrated remarkable teamwork and an infectious positive energy. It was a joy to watch them play, reflecting the true essence of social netball.
Following this, Kiss My Pass took on the Lionesses. The game ended with a closely contested score of 8-7 to the Lionesses. Despite the narrow scoreline, both teams showed an admirable commitment to the game, with every player contributing to the enjoyable game played in great spirit.
In the final game, Groby Girls and Fireflies faced off. Groby Girls finished the game with a score of 21-4. Both teams showcased great sportsmanship and a positive attitude. It was a game played in good spirit, with every player putting their best foot forward.
A special mention goes to Josephine Oakden of Fireflies, who was recognised as the Most Valued Player of the week. Josephine's enthusiasm was infectious; her movement around the court was commendable and her positive contribution to the game was appreciated by teammates and opponents alike.
