As the sun set on a beautiful evening last Thursday, the Brookvale Groby Learning Centre came alive with the sounds of laughter, athletic movement, and the friendly competition of social netball. It was Week 3 of the season and the sense of community spirit was radiating from every corner of the court. A diverse mix of players, from beginners to seasoned pros, gathered to participate in an evening filled with sportsmanship, camaraderie, and a shared love for netball.
The first match of the evening saw Smack That Pass take on Fireflies. Both teams played with great enthusiasm and displayed exceptional teamwork. The game ended with Fireflies outscoring Smack That Pass 9 to 6. This was followed by an equally spirited match between Groby Girls and Kiss My Pass. The two teams moved with precision and grace around the court, showcasing their commitment and positive energy. Groby Girls emerged with a score of 10 to Kiss My Pass's 7. Wrapping up the evening, Lionesses and All Stars took to the court. The air buzzed with energy as the teams energetically engaged in the match, which ended with All Stars bagging a total of 8 points to Lionesses' 2.
In amidst the excitement of the evening, a special recognition goes to Tilly Elliott from Kiss My Pass, who was named the Most Valued Player of the week. Her remarkable movement around the court, infectious enthusiasm, and positive contribution to her team were not only appreciated by her team-mates but also by her opponents.
As Week 3 drew to a close, anticipation for Week 4 is already mounting. We look forward to another evening of friendly social netball, where everyone can get active, meet new people, and develop their netball skills in a supportive and fun environment. Back to Netball at Brookvale Groby Learning Centre is indeed more than just a game; it’s a community of netball enthusiasts who value sportsmanship and friendship above all else.
