The first week of the social netball season at Brookvale Groby Learning Centre was truly a sight to behold. The chilly autumnal evening was warmed by the welcoming atmosphere and the enthusiasm of players at all levels of experience. Together, they took to the court for an exciting evening of friendly competition and camaraderie.
The first game of the night saw Groby Girls and Smack That Pass take to the court. In a wonderful display of teamwork and sportsmanship, the final score of 11-3 to Groby Girls did little to dampen the positive energy that flowed from both teams. The game was played in great spirit, with players from both sides demonstrating unwavering commitment throughout.
Following this, the All Stars and Kiss My Pass gave us an equally thrilling game. The evening sun set on a final scoreline of 8-7 to the All Stars. Despite the close score, the spirit of the game remained light-hearted and positive, showcasing the friendly nature of social netball at its best.
A special mention must be made for Sarah Kotadia of Smack That Pass, who was named the Most Valued Player of the week. Sarah's enthusiasm on court and her tireless movement around the netball pitch was appreciated both by her teammates and opponents alike. Her positive contribution to the game added to the overall warmth and camaraderie of the evening.
As we look forward to Week 2, we are excited for another evening of friendly social netball. New players are always welcomed into our supportive environment, where they can stay active, meet new people and develop their netball skills, regardless of experience level. The social netball season has just started, and we warmly welcome everyone who is getting back into netball or looking to try it out. With games played in such good spirit and a community atmosphere like this, there really is no better place to enjoy the sport.
