Play in the Wolverhampton Wednesday Netball league powered by You Play Netball

The air at WV Active Aldersley was buzzing with excitement during Week 17 of our social netball season. In an atmosphere of camaraderie and sportsmanship, players of all experience levels came together for an evening dedicated to the love of the game. The friendly vibe was infectious, with everyone playing their hearts out, showcasing their skills and enjoying the thrill of the game.

In the Division 1 group, Pattingham Diamonds and Avengers showcased their teamwork and dedication to the game. The evening ended with Avengers coming out on top with a score of 13-12. The score, however, was not as important as the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship that dominated the court.

In another friendly tussle, ONYX and GoalDiggers demonstrated their commitment to the game. The final whistle saw ONYX with a score of 11-6, but what stood out was the positive energy and the enjoyment both teams derived from the game.

Violet Vixens and Dancing With Wolves also had their moment on the court. Violet Vixens finished with a score of 21-8, with both teams praising each other's efforts and acknowledging the great spirit in which the game was played.

The final match in Division 1 saw Wildflowers and Winging It putting on a show for spectators. The game ended with Winging It having a score of 14-9, with both teams complimenting each other's sportsmanship and the friendly atmosphere of the game.

In the Division 2 group, the spirit of sportsmanship was equally apparent. Net Setters and Go Net It had a friendly match that concluded with a score of 9-6 in favour of the Net Setters.

The Most Valued Player of the week was Emma Lloyd from Dancing With Wolves. Emma was a whirlwind of energy on the court, her enthusiasm and quick movement making her a joy to watch. Her positive contribution was appreciated by her teammates as well as her opponents, who recognized her as a player who truly embodies the spirit of Back to Netball.

Looking ahead, we can’t wait to see what Week 18 brings. As we continue to enjoy these friendly social netball evenings, we look forward to the players keeping active, meeting new people, and developing their netball skills in a supportive and welcoming environment. We are all winners in this game, and the only table that matters is the one where we all sit together, sharing laughter, stories and a love for the game.
