Play in the Wolverhampton Wednesday Netball League powered by You Play Netball

The Wolverhampton Wednesday Netball League got off to a fantastic start this week, with teams across both divisions taking to the court for the first games of the new season. There was a great atmosphere throughout the evening, with plenty of energy, teamwork and support on display as everyone got back into the swing of things.

In Division 1, several teams made a strong opening statement, while others showed great determination in closely fought matches, including an exciting draw that kept everyone on the edge of their seats. Every game was played in good spirit, with plenty of encouraging performances to build on in the weeks ahead.

Division 2 also saw a series of competitive and well-balanced games, with teams battling it out and showing real promise for the season ahead. There were some tight contests and strong defensive displays, highlighting just how evenly matched this division could be.

A special mention goes to Nancy Hague of the Wildflowers, who was named Most Valued Player for the opening week. Her effort, attitude and performance stood out and set a great example for others across the league.

Overall, it was a brilliant first week that set a positive tone for the rest of the season. With such a strong start, there’s plenty to look forward to as teams continue to develop, compete and enjoy their netball each Wednesday.
