A cheerful evening of social netball unfolded recently at Wombourne Leisure Centre. With Week 2 of the season in full swing, players of various skill levels congregated for a spirited night of friendly competition and camaraderie. The welcoming atmosphere was palpable, as both experienced and novice players took to the court to enjoy the great game of netball.

The first match saw the Dolly Mixtures and Netbusters sharing the court, with the score concluding at 19 - 11 in favor of the Dolly Mixtures. Both teams displayed fantastic teamwork and commitment throughout the game, embodying the positive energy that makes social netball such an enjoyable sport. The spirit of the game was alive and well as the players cheered each other on.

Next up, the Blaze Ballers and Goal Diggers faced off, culminating in a score of 17 - 14 to the Goal Diggers. Their sportsmanship was admirable, as both teams encouraged each other, demonstrating that it's not about the scoreline, but rather about playing the game in great spirit.

In a vibrant display of netball, the Wing-its and Phoenix Flyers enjoyed an energetic match, with the Flyers finishing on a high at 18 - 8. The players moved across the court with such enthusiasm, showing that the game is all about keeping active and having fun.

The evening was rounded off with a close game between the Thunder Thighs and The Hotshots, ending with a score of 12 - 6 for the Thunder Thighs. The mutual respect and positive vibes radiating from both teams were a testament to the spirit of social netball.

A special mention must be given to Julie Dixon of The Hotshots, who was awarded Most Valued Player of the week. Her active movement around the court, combined with her infectious positivity, was appreciated by teammates and opponents alike.

Looking ahead, we eagerly anticipate Week 3 and another enjoyable evening of social netball. These nights provide a wonderful opportunity for everyone to stay active, meet new people, and continue developing their netball skills in a supportive environment.
