What an exhilarating kick-off to the new social netball season we had this past Sunday at Wombourne Leisure Centre! The air was buzzing with enthusiasm and camaraderie as players of all experience levels gathered for a fun-filled evening of friendly competition. The welcoming atmosphere promised an exciting start to Week 1, and indeed, it was a joyous celebration of sport, athleticism, and community spirit.

The first match saw Blaze Ballers and Netbusters sharing the court. In a game filled with high energy, the Ballers finished with a score of 9-6. Both teams displayed an impressive level of teamwork and sportsmanship that truly embodied the spirit of social netball.

The next match featured Goal Diggers and Phoenix Flyers. The teams brought their A-game, with Goal Diggers ending the game at a close 14-13. The commitment shown by both teams was truly commendable, and the positive energy was contagious.

Dolly Mixtures and The Hotshots took to the court next. The Hotshots shone, earning a final score of 22-15. Everyone, from spectators to players, enjoyed the thrilling, spirited game that highlighted the essence of social netball.

Finally, Wing-its and Thunder Thighs showed their passion for the game. Thunder Thighs ended the match with a score of 13-7. Both teams exhibited the perfect combination of sportsmanship and positive energy, making it an enjoyable game for all.

We can't end our recap without a special mention of our Most Valued Player of the week. The accolade went to Hayley Moody from Phoenix Flyers. Her enthusiasm and movement around the court were truly inspiring. Hayley’s positive contribution was appreciated by teammates and opponents alike, reflecting the true spirit of the game.
