Week 15 of the Birmingham Tuesday Netball League took place at Waseley Hills High School, with another full schedule of fixtures as teams continued their push towards the end of the season. Four matches were played, featuring some strong attacking displays and competitive performances across the league.
The evening began with Goals Aloud taking on Hoop Troops. Hoop Troops produced an impressive performance to secure a 17-7 victory, moving the ball well through the court and taking their scoring opportunities. Goals Aloud continued to compete throughout and worked hard from the opening centre pass to the final whistle.
The second fixture saw Waseley Wizards face Spice Goals. Spice Goals were in excellent form, recording the highest score of the evening with a convincing 26-3 win. Their attacking combinations proved difficult to stop, while Waseley Wizards continued to battle and looked to create opportunities throughout the match.
Goals Of Glory met Netbusters in the third game of the night. Goals Of Glory controlled the contest to claim an 8-3 victory, with a disciplined performance at both ends of the court. Netbusters remained determined throughout and continued to compete until the closing stages.
The final match saw Goal Diggers take on Stormers. Stormers secured a 5-0 win in a defensive contest where chances were limited. Both teams worked hard throughout, with strong defensive efforts playing a key role in the outcome.
This week's Most Valued Player award went to Jo Denston of Goals Aloud. Jo was recognised for an outstanding individual performance, bringing energy, movement and a positive attitude throughout the evening.
A reminder to all teams regarding substitutes. If you know your team will be short of players, please let Head Office know as soon as possible so we can help where we can. Any player who is substituting and is not already registered with the league must complete the registration process before taking to the court. Please also ensure that any substitutes are not current County or Divisional standard players, as these players are not eligible to substitute in the league. Finally, if you are playing as a substitute for another team, you must play out of position and not in the position you usually play for your own team. These rules help keep the league fair and enjoyable for everyone, and we appreciate everyone's cooperation.
Could all teams please ensure that if you are unable to attend a scheduled fixture, you inform Head Office as soon as possible. Providing advance notice allows us to notify your opponents, update the fixture schedule where necessary and ensure the evening runs as smoothly as possible. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep the league running efficiently.
With just a few weeks of the season remaining, every fixture continues to play an important role in the league standings. Teams will now turn their attention to Week 16 as they look to finish the campaign strongly.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Waseley Hills High School for another evening of competitive netball next Tuesday.
