Birmingham Tuesday night netball - week 5

Play in the Birmingham Tuesday Netball League

Week 5 of the Birmingham Tuesday Netball League brought another enjoyable evening of netball, with teams in the league continuing to show great effort, teamwork and steady improvement as the season progresses. With the table beginning to take shape, each fixture carried added importance, and players took to the court ready to give their best.

Waseley Wizards faced Pocket Rockets in one of the evening’s matches. Pocket Rockets produced a strong and organised performance to take an 18-6 win. The Wizards worked hard throughout the game and showed good determination, but the Rockets were able to build momentum and maintain control. Waseley Wizards will no doubt take positives from the match as they look ahead to the coming weeks.

Goal Diggers met Goals of Glory in another fixture, with Goals of Glory securing a 22-8 result. They showed consistency and effective teamwork across all quarters, allowing them to gradually extend their lead. Goal Diggers continued to compete well and showed resilience, and will be aiming to build on their performance going forward.

Spice Goals also enjoyed a positive game against Hoop Troops, coming away with an 18-3 victory. Spice Goals moved the ball well and created good scoring opportunities, while Hoop Troops remained committed throughout and will be looking to take valuable experience from the match into future games.

One of the more closely watched games of the night saw Netbusters take on Stormers. Netbusters secured a 23-12 win in what was an engaging and well-contested match. Both teams showed good passages of play, but Netbusters were able to make the most of their chances. Wendy Jackson of Netbusters delivered a standout performance and was named this week’s Most Valued Player, recognised for her all-round contribution and positive influence on the game.

Across all matches, it was encouraging to see the continued development of teams as they grow in confidence and cohesion. The league provides a great opportunity for players of all levels to enjoy competitive netball in a supportive and friendly environment, and this was evident throughout the evening.

As the league moves into Week 6, teams will be looking to build on their performances, refine their gameplay and continue progressing up the table. With plenty of netball still to be played, there is a strong sense of anticipation for what the coming weeks will bring.
