What a joyful evening it was as players gathered for Week 3 of social netball at Two Rivers High School. The sun was setting as the court came alive with laughter, cheers, and the sweet sound of netball. The welcoming atmosphere truly set the tone for a wonderful evening of friendly competition, camaraderie, and fun.
In Division 1, the evening began with an energetic match between the Rivers Swimmers and the Alliance. The Alliance finished the game with a commendable score of 28-3. The match showcased the power of teamwork, as each player contributed their best to the game, turning the evening into an enjoyable spectacle for all.
Meanwhile, the Rivers Phoenix and Unity demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship in their match, ending with a score of 24-4 in favor of Unity. The positive energy on the court was evident as smiles were shared between teammates and opponents alike.
The game between Rivers Divas and River Blacks was a close call, finishing at 17-15 for the Blacks. Despite the close finish, the emphasis remained on enjoyment and personal achievement, making it a match to remember.
In the final Division 1 game, River Warriors and River Riders showed us the true spirit of netball in a one-point thriller, ending 11-10 for the Riders. Every player showed great commitment and contributed to the lively spirit of the game.
Over in Division 2, the River Rapids and River Golds engaged in a fun-filled match, with the Golds wrapping up the game at a score of 12-3. The Hot Shots and River Sevens also had a lively game, ending 21-5 for the Sevens. Meanwhile, the River Cruisers and River Chicks put on a fantastic display, with the Cruisers finishing on top, 11-3, but with everyone leaving the game full of smiles.
This week's Most Valued Player, Dawn Hollis from the River Dancers, deserves a special mention. Dawn's enthusiasm, movement around the court, and infectious positive energy were highly appreciated by teammates and opponents alike.
As we look forward to Week 4, we anticipate another evening of friendly social netball, where we focus on keeping active, meeting new people, and developing our netball skills in a supportive and welcoming environment. So, let's all come together next week for another evening of Back to Netball fun!
