Tamworth Thursday Netball League - Week 6

The highly-anticipated Tamworth Thursday netball league did not disappoint sports enthusiasts in its sixth week, with fiercely contested matches in both Division 1 and Division 2.

In Division 1, the River Blacks once again showcased their defensive prowess, overpowering the River Warriors with a resounding 17-3 victory. Despite a valiant fight, the River Warriors struggled to break through the Blacks' solid defense. Meanwhile, the Rivers Phoenix emerged victorious over the River Hot Shots with a five-point lead, ending the game 18-13. The Rivers Divas also had a close battle with the River Riders but managed to scrape a win with a 19-13 scoreline.

The intensity did not wane in Division 2, with the River Chicks and Rivers Swimmers going head-to-head. The Swimmers ultimately triumphed with a 17-11 victory. In a tightly contested match, the River Cruisers and River Sevens couldn't be separated, ending in an 8-8 draw, while the River Dancers fell short against the River Rapids 14-6.

The star of the week was undoubtedly Georgia Wright of River Dancers. Despite her team's result, her outstanding performance earned her the title of the most valued player for the week, demonstrating exceptional skill and sportsmanship.

The top scorers for each division were Rivers Phoenix in Division 1 and Rivers Swimmers in Division 2. Their victories this week certainly solidified their position as formidable forces in the Tamworth Thursday netball league. And as we move into the seventh week of the competition, fans eagerly await more high-octane netball action.
