In the heart of Leicester, the fourth week of the Wednesday seven-a-side Netball league, Division 1, unfolded with a display of tenacity, skill, and pure sporting prowess. With each week, the competition is heating up, and last night was no exception.
Court Queens faced off against Give Us A Shot in a tight match that saw the former reign supreme with an 8-2 victory. Court Queens proved once again that they are a force to be reckoned with in this league, showing their tactical acuity and netball skills.
However, the most spectacular performance of the night undoubtedly came from Nets Top Models, who booked a 28-3 victory over the Birstall Bluebirds. The Models' attacking play was in a league of its own, as they relentlessly peppered the Bluebirds' net and defended their own with fierce resolve.
Elsewhere, Seagrave Squirrels displayed their might against Wreake Havoc. The Squirrels were in full form, scoring an impressive 22 goals to Havoc's 6. The highlight of this match was the exceptional performance of Vicky Haig, who was named the most valued player of the week. Haig's skill and agility were instrumental in the Squirrels' victory and her contribution to the team's success cannot be overstated.
The evening's final match saw The Allsorts and Shooting Stars locked in a dead heat, ending the game at 18 all. Both teams showcased a high level of competitiveness and teamwork, leaving everyone in awe and marking a fitting end to an exhilarating night of netball.
As we look forward to week 5, the top scorers of each division continue to raise the bar with their exceptional performances. The fight for the top spot in Division 1 is on, and if last night is anything to go by, we are in for a thrilling ride.
