Play in the Tewkesbury Sunday Netball League
Week 9 of the Tewkesbury Sunday Netball League provided another entertaining evening of netball, with teams continuing to demonstrate great teamwork, commitment, and competitive spirit. As the season moves into its latter stages, every match is becoming increasingly important, with sides looking to build momentum and strengthen their positions in the League table.
The evening began with a fixture between Gimme! The Ball and Dancing Queens. Dancing Queens produced a confident and well-organised performance to secure a 20-10 victory. Throughout the match, they moved the ball effectively, created scoring opportunities, and maintained a strong presence across the court. Their teamwork and consistency allowed them to gradually build a lead and control the tempo of the game. Gimme! The Ball continued to work hard throughout the contest and showed plenty of determination despite facing a strong opponent.
The second fixture of the night saw Winner Takes It All take on Super Troupers in another competitive encounter. Winner Takes It All delivered a composed performance to earn a 14-6 victory. Their ability to link up well in attack and remain disciplined defensively helped them gain an early advantage and maintain control for much of the match. Super Troupers continued to battle throughout and produced some positive passages of play, showing the resilience and team spirit that have been evident across the League all season.
While there were strong performances throughout the evening, the standout individual recognition went to Megan Rawlings of Voulez-Vous, who was named Most Valued Player of the week. Megan's contribution on court was widely praised, with her movement, awareness, and ability to influence play helping her team perform at a high level. Her consistent efforts and positive impact continue to make her an important player for Voulez-Vous as they look ahead to the remaining fixtures of the season.
One of the most exciting aspects of this season continues to be the competitiveness across the League. With teams regularly producing strong performances and results varying from week to week, there is still plenty to play for as the campaign progresses. The close competition between teams has created an enjoyable and welcoming environment while maintaining a healthy competitive edge that keeps players and supporters engaged.
The results from week 9 have added another interesting chapter to the season, with Dancing Queens and Winner Takes It All both securing valuable victories. These performances will undoubtedly give them confidence heading into the next round of fixtures, while the remaining teams will be eager to respond and continue their own development as the season unfolds.
As attention turns to week 10, players across the League will be looking to build on their recent performances, support their teammates, and continue enjoying the social and competitive atmosphere that makes the Tewkesbury Sunday Netball League such a popular competition. With plenty of netball still to come and several teams capable of producing impressive performances on any given week, there is every reason to expect more exciting matches ahead.
Congratulations to all teams who took part this week and a special well done to Megan Rawlings for earning the Most Valued Player award. We look forward to another fantastic round of fixtures next week.
