The new season of the Tewkesbury Sunday netball league got underway with a lively and enjoyable evening of matches, as teams returned to the court and began their campaigns. There was a great atmosphere throughout, with plenty of teamwork and effort on display in the League.

The opening fixtures included some high-scoring games, giving teams a chance to settle into the new season. ‘Voulez-Vous’ faced ‘Dancing Queens’, with Dancing Queens securing a 17-3 win in a well-played match. Meanwhile, ‘Gimme! The Ball’ made a strong start with a 20-0 result against ‘Super Troupers’.

A standout contribution came from Kym Doogan of ‘Super Troupers’, who was recognised as the league’s Most Valued Player for the week. Her performance showed great determination and effort, and she made a positive impact on the court.

This opening round has set a solid foundation for the rest of the season, with teams showing encouraging signs as they continue to build momentum. It’s great to see such enthusiasm and commitment so early on.

As the season progresses, there will be plenty more opportunities for teams to develop and enjoy their netball, and it will be interesting to see how things take shape over the coming weeks.
