In a thrilling start to the Tewkesbury Sunday Netball League, local teams showcased their skills on the court last night, kicking off the new season with gusto. The tightly contested matches held everyone involved in suspense as teams furiously battled for the top spot in the league.

League action got underway with a pulsating clash between Voulez-Vous and Chiquitita`s, with the latter steamrolling their opponents 16-8. Chiquitita`s showcased a comprehensive performance, blending the perfect mix of attack and defence, setting the standard high for the rest of the season.

In another showdown, Dancing Queens showed their class with a 24-10 victory over Super Troupers. 

The third match of the night in the league saw Slipping Through Our Fingers succumbing to a 16-7 defeat against Gimme! The Ball. The latter team demonstrated a strong defence strategy, ensuring their opponents had limited opportunities to score.

This opening week sent a clear message to all teams in the league - this season promises to be a fiercely competitive one. Next week's matches are already highly anticipated, as teams look to either maintain their momentum or seek redemption. 

As the season unfolds, it will be exciting to see how the teams respond to the pressure and if they can maintain their current form.
