Reminder: New Season starts next week 16th April with 2 new teams Shooting Stars and Buxton Babes joining the league!
The final week of the Buxton Thursday Netball League brought a lovely close to what has been a fantastic 10-week season. Across the League division, teams have come together week after week to enjoy the game, support one another, and show great spirit on and off the court.
One of the standout matches of the evening saw Buxton Ballers and Pointer Sisters go head to head. Both teams played with great energy and teamwork, creating plenty of positive moments throughout. While the match finished 10–7, the real highlight was the performance of Zoe Wagstaffe from Pointer Sisters. Recently named the league’s Most Valued Player, Zoe showed wonderful movement, awareness, and consistency, making a big impact and earning well-deserved recognition from everyone watching.
Spring Into Action and No Bux Given also took to the court for a lively and entertaining match. Both teams showed great determination and teamwork, with Spring Into Action finding a strong rhythm as the game progressed to finish 14–8. It was another great example of how much all teams have grown and developed over the course of the season.
A special mention goes to Buxton Ballers, who have had a consistently positive season and finished at the top of the League table. Their teamwork, communication, and commitment each week have been fantastic to see, and they should be really proud of everything they’ve achieved.
As the season comes to an end, it’s a great time to reflect on all the effort, encouragement, and sportsmanship shown by every team involved. From close matches to individual highlights, it’s been a season full of memorable moments and plenty of smiles.
A big thank you goes to all the players and supporters who made the Buxton Thursday Netball League such an enjoyable and welcoming space each week. We look forward to seeing everyone back on court next season!
