Play in the Walsall Sunday social netball league

The week that was saw another delightful evening of camaraderie, sportsmanship, and, of course, netball at St Francis of Assisi. Marking the eighth week of our ongoing season, players from all walks of life and experience levels came together for a friendly game of social netball. The atmosphere was full of warmth and buzzing with positive energy, truly encapsulating the spirit of the game we all love so much.

Our first match of the evening brought together the High Hoops and Aldridge Allsorts. They showcased excellent teamwork and commitment throughout the game, which concluded with a score of 28-3 in favour of High Hoops. Despite the disparity in the scoreline, all were winners in the spirit of the game with both teams walking away with smiles and their heads held high.

The second match was a display of sheer sportsmanship between the Flaming Divas and Sutton Ballers. With a final score of 30-12 to the Divas, the game was filled with positive energy, tenacity, and a passion for the sport that was palpable. What stood out was the friendly banter and laughter echoing around, underlining the sense of community our club fosters.

A special mention goes to Caroline Coombs from the Sutton Ballers who was recognised as the Most Valued Player of the week. Her enthusiasm and movement around the court were remarkable, and her positive contributions didn't go unnoticed, either by her teammates or her opponents. Caroline's passion for the game truly embodies the spirit of friendly competition we encourage at our club.

As we look forward to Week 9, we eagerly anticipate another evening of good-natured netball, full of opportunities to stay active, meet new people, and further develop our netball skills. Let's continue to foster this supportive environment, where everyone is welcome no matter their ability or experience level. As we always say, it's not about winning, it's about taking part and enjoying the game. So, here's to another exciting week of Back to Netball at St Francis of Assisi. See you all next week!
