What a delightful, invigorating start to the week we had with our first evening of social netball at St Francis of Assisi! Week 1 of the season brought together a diverse mix of players, from rookies to seasoned stalwarts, all gathered under a serene sky to celebrate the camaraderie of sport. The atmosphere was abuzz with the spirit of anticipation and sportsmanship, reinforcing our club's ethos: that playing netball is about more than just scoring goals.

In our first match, we saw the Flaming Divas and Time To Shine share the court. With a finishing score of Flaming Divas 27 - Time To Shine 16, it was clear both teams brought their passion and determination to the game. The focus wasn’t on the score, however, but on how the teams worked together, their commitment to every pass, their constant encouragement, and the overall energy they brought to the court. The game was a testament to great sportsmanship and was enjoyed by all participants and spectators alike.

Next, we had the pleasure of witnessing High Hoops and Step Aside take to the court. The final score read High Hoops 14 - Step Aside 5. Yet, even as the numbers flashed on the scoreboard, the teams demonstrated the true essence of netball: positivity, teamwork, and spirit. Both teams showcased their skills and commitment, their every move accentuating the joy they derive from the sport.

A special mention must be made for our Most Valued Player of the week, Hollie Evans from Time To Shine. Hollie's enthusiasm was palpable as she moved strategically around the court, contributing positively to her team's performance. Hollie’s appreciation for the sport was evident in her play, earning the admiration of teammates and opponents alike.

As we look ahead to Week 2, we are excitedly anticipating another evening of friendly, social netball. We invite all to join us, to keep active, meet new people, and develop netball skills in our supportive community environment. Whether you are getting back into netball after a break or trying the sport for the first time, you're welcome here. Just like Week 1, the focus will be on enjoying the game, fostering positive relationships, and celebrating every player's contribution. Here's to a fun-filled, high-spirited netball season!
