Soar Valley College - Leicester Sunday
It was a fantastic start to the season at the Leicester Sunday Netball League, with week one bringing plenty of smiles, supportive teammates and great passages of play across all matches.
Stealing Passes faced Brookside in a well-balanced game to open the season. Both teams settled into their rhythm nicely, with Brookside coming away with a 14–9 win. It was a positive start for both sides, setting the tone for the weeks ahead.
The closest game of the evening saw Netchicks take on Court Out. The two teams were evenly matched throughout, with some lovely movement through court and accurate shooting at both ends. Netchicks just edged it 15–14, but it was a brilliant team effort from everyone involved.
Goal Diggers and Foxes also kicked off their campaigns with an energetic match, finishing 24–11. Goal Diggers found some great flow in attack, while Foxes kept working hard and supporting one another right to the final whistle.
Despite the result, Foxes’ Naila Rajani was named Most Valued Player of the week. Her determination, skill and positive attitude stood out on the night and were a credit to her team.
With the first round of fixtures complete, it’s already clear that this season will be full of teamwork, encouragement and enjoyable Sunday night netball. Everyone is looking forward to building on week one and getting back on court next weekend.
