Congratulations to Nets Top Models on being crowned champions of this season’s Mansfield Wednesday netball league, and a big well done to runners-up Stealing Passes for pushing them all the way throughout a competitive and entertaining campaign. Special recognition also goes to Louise Radford from Ballers, who has been deservedly named this season’s Most Valued Player after producing a series of outstanding performances across the season.
The final night of fixtures in the Mansfield Wednesday netball league provided a brilliant conclusion to another fantastic season, with players, supporters, and teams all contributing to a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. With several strong performances across the evening, the final round of matches showcased the teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship that have been evident throughout the season.
On Target produced an excellent display to secure an 11-5 victory over High Hoops. Their sharp movement, accurate shooting, and strong defensive work helped them control the game and finish their season on a high note. High Hoops continued to battle throughout the match and showed plenty of commitment, reflecting the positive attitude they have brought to the league all season long.
Black Panthers also ended the campaign strongly with an impressive 8-5 win against newly crowned champions Nets Top Models. It was a closely fought game between two talented sides, with both teams creating plenty of chances and showing great intensity from start to finish. Black Panthers can take great confidence from such a strong performance against the league winners, while Nets Top Models once again demonstrated the resilience and quality that helped them secure the title this season.
Meanwhile, Shooting Stars delivered one of their strongest performances of the season with a convincing 9-2 victory over Ballers. Their attacking play was fluid throughout the game, and they worked tirelessly both on and off the ball to maintain control of the contest. Ballers continued to compete positively and showed the same enthusiasm and determination that has earned them respect across the league this season.
One of the highlights of the evening came with the announcement of Stephanie Andrews from Nets Top Models as the week’s Most Valued Player. Stephanie delivered another excellent all-round performance and was recognised for her effort, consistency, and positive influence on the court. Her contribution throughout the season has been a major factor in Nets Top Models’ success, and this award was a fitting way to round off the campaign.
At the end of an exciting season, Nets Top Models finished top of the League table with an impressive total of 24 points and 12 wins to their name. Week after week they demonstrated strong teamwork, consistency, and determination, often finding ways to perform under pressure in important matches. Their ability to work together as a unit and maintain high standards throughout the season ultimately made the difference in a highly competitive league.
Credit must also go to every team that took part this season. From the opening week right through to the final whistle, the Mansfield Wednesday netball league has been filled with competitive matches played in a fantastic spirit. The league has continued to provide players with an enjoyable and welcoming environment to play netball, improve their skills, and enjoy regular midweek competition.
As the season comes to a close, everyone involved can look back on another successful campaign full of memorable moments, excellent performances, and great sportsmanship. We would like to thank all players, teams, officials, and supporters for helping make the season such a success, and we look forward to welcoming both returning and new teams back for another exciting season in the near future.
