The first week of the Oldham Monday Netball League season got off to a fantastic start in the Premier League division, with teams showing great teamwork, determination, and plenty of positive energy on court.
Time To Shine and Ballers treated spectators to an exciting match, with Time To Shine coming away with a 24-17 win. Both teams played with real spirit and skill, making it an entertaining opening game that set the tone for the season ahead.
Blue Lightning also enjoyed a strong start against Shots & Giggles, finishing with a 22-2 result. Despite the scoreline, Shots & Giggles’ Emily Heslop delivered an outstanding individual performance, earning the title of the week’s most valued player. Her effort and enthusiasm highlighted the talent on display across the league.
Seven Heaven rounded off the evening with a 23-4 win over Saddleworth Sirens in a match that showcased some excellent passing, movement, and teamwork from both sides. The result gives Seven Heaven an early boost as the season begins to take shape.
After an enjoyable first week, the League division has already shown the great sense of community, sportsmanship, and quality netball that the league is all about. With strong performances across the board and players like Emily Heslop already making an impression, there’s plenty for fans and teams to look forward to in the weeks ahead.
