Week 9 of the Derby Thursday Netball League brought another evening of great energy, teamwork and plenty of memorable moments, with every team showing determination and spirit out on court. The matches were full of competitive play, encouraging teamwork and some fantastic individual performances that made for an enjoyable night of netball all around.
In the League division, The Rams faced Destiny’s Childs in a closely contested match. Both teams worked hard throughout, creating an exciting game with plenty of end-to-end action. Destiny’s Childs managed to edge ahead and take a 13-9 win, but The Rams can be proud of their effort and teamwork. A special mention goes to Lily Draper, whose standout performance earned her the title of this week’s Most Valued Player.
Another entertaining fixture saw Don’t Stop Believing take on Derby Dolls in a high-scoring and fast-paced game. Both sides showed great attacking play and determination, keeping the match lively from start to finish. Don’t Stop Believing eventually secured a 19-15 victory, but Derby Dolls matched them with strong passages of play and great resilience throughout the game.
Elsewhere, The Diagnostix delivered a confident performance against Derby Darlings, earning an 18-3 win. The Diagnostix showed strong teamwork in both attack and defence, while Derby Darlings continued to battle hard and support one another right to the final whistle.
Overall, Week 9 showcased the positive spirit and growing quality across the Derby Thursday Netball League. Every team contributed to an enjoyable evening of netball, with players continuing to develop, encourage one another and produce some fantastic moments on court. With Week 10 approaching, teams will no doubt be looking forward to building on their performances and enjoying another exciting round of fixtures.
