Derby Thursday Week 5 - 18/6/26

Rykneld Sports Centre was abuzz with excitement as it hosted Week 5 of the social netball evening. The welcoming atmosphere was filled with camaraderie, laughter, and a celebration of the sport. A mix of seasoned players and newcomers alike took to the court, all relishing in the spirit of the game.

In the League group, Don't Stop Believing engaged in a spirited match against Destiny`s Childs. The game ended with a score of 5-8 in favour of Destiny’s Childs. Regardless of the score, both teams displayed commendable teamwork and commitment. The positive energy was palpable, and it was evident that everyone thoroughly enjoyed the game.

Similarly, The Rams and The Diagnostix offered a riveting game that ended with The Rams scoring 11 against The Diagnostix’s 10. The level of sportsmanship displayed was truly heartwarming, proving yet again that it's not just about the points you score, but the spirit in which you play the game.

The encounter between Derby Darlings and Derby Dolls ended with a scoreline of 2-15 for Derby Dolls. It was a game played with great spirit, and both teams were lauded for their sportsmanship and positive energy.

A special mention must be made of the Most Valued Player of the week, Nagina Rashid from Destiny's Childs. Rashid's relentless enthusiasm, movement around the court, and overall positive contribution did not go unnoticed. Her spirit was appreciated by both her teammates and opponents, highlighting the true essence of social netball.

As we look ahead to Week 6, anticipation fills the air for another evening of friendly social netball. This is more than just about keeping active and developing netball skills, it's about connecting with the community, meeting new people, and fostering a supportive environment.
