What a delightful evening of social netball it was at Rutland Sports Park on Tuesday, as Week 2 of the season showcased the spirit of friendly competition and camaraderie. Players of all skills and experiences came together in a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy a great night of netball, infusing the park with positive energy, and a shared passion for this wonderful game.
The first match saw the Defend Divas and Nets Top Models display their netball skills, with the Divas finishing the game with a score of 8-4. Despite the score difference, the spirit of the game was held high, both the teams showcasing positive energy and collaboration.
Next up we saw the Shooting Stars engaging the Pivoters in a friendly contest. The game ended with the Pivoters having a slight edge by a 9-8 score line. Both teams exhibited their commitment to teamwork and sportsmanship, making it an enjoyable game played in the best spirit.
The final match of the evening saw the Rutland Rebels against the One Hit Wonders, with the Rebels securing a close 12-10 triumph. The highlight of the match was the mutual respect and encouragement between the teams, once again emphasizing what social netball is all about.
A special mention for the Most Valued Player of the week, Alison Flewkes from Nets Top Models. Alison was a force to be reckoned with, her enthusiasm and tireless movement around the court making a positive impact on the game. Both her teammates and opponents appreciated her sportsmanship and contribution to the wonderful atmosphere of the evening.
