In a brilliant display of the spirit of the game, the Social Netball matches at Ilkeston Tuesday were full of energy, excitement and most importantly, fun! These games were all part of the much-loved Back to Netball programme, aimed at bringing people together through their shared love for the sport, while promoting fitness and friendship.

The teams dazzled us all with their skill and camaraderie on the court. The Defend Divas and Pivoters showed great teamwork and sportsmanship, with both teams making a commendable effort. The Pivoters, however, edged ahead by scoring a total of 12 goals, making for a thrilling game against Defend Divas 6.

One Hit Wonders and Rutland Rebels also put on a spectacular show, with the One Hit Wonders scoring an impressive nine goals and Rutland Rebels scoring 5 goals. Their energetic performance was a testament to what getting back into the game can look like - pure joy and passion!

Another standout moment was the match between Shooting Stars and Shoot Your Shot. A nail-biting game, with Shoot Your Shot managing to score one more goal than their friendly opponents ending the night with a win of 4-3.

But let's not forget about the individuals who make these games as exciting as they are. A big shout-out to Elena Theaker from Rutland Rebels who was recognized as player of the session for her positive contribution on the court. Her sportsmanship, skill, and dedication undoubtedly embody the spirit of the Back to Netball programme.

And while the highlight reel of the games may focus on goals, it's the laughter, high-fives, and sense of community that truly define these matches. Because at the end of the day, it's not about who scored the most, but about having fun, staying fit, and fostering friendships. That's what Back to Netball is all about!
