Ilkeston Tuesday Netball Update 2nd June

The inaugural season of the Ilkeston Tuesday Netball got off to a fantastic start this week, with teams delivering an exciting evening of competitive netball, great teamwork, and impressive individual performances.

Shooting Stars and Defend Divas opened their campaigns with a closely contested match. Both teams displayed excellent skill and determination throughout, but Shooting Stars were able to edge ahead and secure a 10-7 victory thanks to some accurate shooting and strong defensive play.

The second fixture saw Shoot Your Shot take on One Hit Wonders in one of the closest games of the evening. The match remained competitive from start to finish, with One Hit Wonders narrowly claiming a 10-9 victory. Both teams can take plenty of positives from a highly entertaining encounter that showcased the quality on display in the league.

Rutland Rebels also made a strong start to the season with a 12-6 win over Pivoters. Through effective teamwork, confident attacking play, and solid defence, they were able to build momentum and begin their campaign with a well-earned victory.

A special congratulations goes to Alison Flewkes of Shoot Your Shot, who was deservedly named Most Valued Player of the Week. Alison's skill, composure, and all-round contribution on court made her a standout performer and earned recognition from players and spectators alike.

While it is still very early in the season, several teams have made an encouraging start. Shooting Stars, One Hit Wonders, and Rutland Rebels all impressed with their performances and scoring ability, setting the stage for what promises to be a competitive and enjoyable season ahead.

With such a strong opening week, there is plenty for players and supporters to look forward to. Every team has already shown great potential, and as the season develops, fans can expect more exciting matches, memorable moments, and outstanding netball from across the league.
