Leicester Sunday Social Netball Update 14th April

In the latest round of matches in the Leicester Sunday Social Netball League at Avanti Fields School, teams once again gathered to compete in a friendly atmosphere, despite some teams being short of players.

The first match of the day saw Untouchables take on Stealing Passes. Stealing Passes were gifted the 5-0 victory this week due to Untouchables being short of players.

In an exciting fixture, the Foxes faced off against Pimp My Stride. The Foxes emerged victorious with a 14-8 win, demonstrating their skill and determination in attack while maintaining a solid defence throughout the match.

One of the highlights of the evening was the thrilling encounter between Game Of Throws and Champion Chasers. In a closely contested match, Game Of Throws managed to secure a narrow 10-8 victory. Lauren Di S'Andrea stood out as the star player for the Chasers, delivering an outstanding performance despite their team's loss.

The final match of the day saw Netchicks take on Goal Diggers. Netchicks, who had been unbeaten so far in the season, suffered their first defeat with a 16-6 loss against Goal Diggers. Louise Papworth from Netchicks was awarded the Player of the Match for her efforts. Despite the loss, Netchicks remain at the top of the table, albeit now only on goal difference, with Goal Diggers and Game Of Throws also sitting on 8 points each.

Overall, the matches in the Leicester Sunday Social Netball League provided an exciting display of skill and sportsmanship, showcasing the competitive spirit and camaraderie among the teams. With the league table tightening at the top, the competition promises to remain intense in the upcoming fixtures.
