The Rugeley Leisure Centre was buzzing with excitement and energy on the opening night of social netball for Week 1 of the season. The welcoming atmosphere coupled with the friendly competition made it a truly delightful evening. The venue was filled with players of varying experience levels, all of whom shared a common love for netball. Whether they were returning players or those recently getting back into netball, the enthusiasm was palpable as the social netball season kicked off.

The evening began with The Original Lions engaging in a closely contested game with Phoenix Reds. The Original Lions concluded the match with a score of 11-10, a testament to their dedication and teamwork. The game showcased moments of brilliant sportsmanship and was a perfect example of the positive energy that social netball promotes.

Next up, Rugeley Warriors and Rockets took to the court for an equally thrilling game. The Warriors finished the game leading with a 10-5 score. Their commitment to the game and each other was clearly visible throughout the match and it was a joy to watch.

The third match saw Rugeley Roses and Rugeley Divas display fantastic friendly competition. The Divas ended the game with a narrow victory of 13-11, showing immense dedication and camaraderie. The game was played in great spirit and provided an enjoyable spectacle for all.

The final game of the evening was between the Rugeley Rebels and Rugeley Rangers. The Rangers wrapped up the game with a final score of 20-12, displaying great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the match.

A special mention must go to the Most Valued Player of the week, Charlotte McNaughton from the Rugeley Warriors. Her notable enthusiasm, excellent movement around the court, and positive contribution were not only appreciated by her teammates but also by her opponents.
