Last Monday evening, the Droitwich Spa High School & Sixth Form Centre was abuzz with the joyous cacophony of laughter, cheers and good-natured competition that can only be found in social netball. As we moved into Week 2 of the season, players of all ages and experience levels came together to share in a delightful evening of sport, camaraderie and community spirit.
In the first match of the evening, the Monday Misfits and Droitwich Devils took to the court. With every pass and goal, both teams showcased heart, teamwork, and a deep love for the game. The Devils danced their way to a final tally of 16 goals against the Misfits' 11. However, score lines aside, it was the positive energy and commitment from both sides that was the real winner.
Following that, the Droitwich Diamonds went head to head with the Rogue Angels in a game that was just as much about having fun as it was about the netball. The score was tight, with the Angels just edging ahead to finish the game with 16 goals to the Diamonds' 13. The game was played in great spirit, with both teams displaying commendable sportsmanship and an infectious enthusiasm.
A special mention must go to Grace Reeves from Monday Misfits. Grace's energy, movement around the court and positive contribution did not go unnoticed by her team members and opponents alike. Her passion and dedication to the game was an inspiration to all and reminded us of why we love netball so much.
As we look towards Week 3, we anticipate another evening of friendly social netball. It's not just about the sport, but about keeping active, meeting new people, and developing our netball skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. To all our players, keep up the wonderful work, and let's make next week's games as enjoyable as this week's. After all, that's what Back to Netball is all about!
