Week 7 of the Nantwich Thursday Netball League took place at Reaseheath College, with teams enjoying another evening of competitive action and closely contested fixtures. Players took to the courts looking to build momentum as the season continued, producing a number of entertaining matches throughout the night.
The opening fixture in the League saw Put A Donk On It take on Net It! in a closely fought contest. Neither side was able to gain a decisive advantage, with both teams matching each other throughout the game. Strong defensive performances and well-worked attacking moves kept the scoreline level for much of the match, and a 9-9 draw was a fair reflection of an evenly balanced encounter.
Next up were Wildcats and Shots And Giggles in one of the most competitive games of the evening. Both teams played with intensity and determination, creating plenty of scoring opportunities at either end of the court. Shots And Giggles managed to edge ahead in the closing stages to secure a narrow 13-12 victory, but the result could easily have gone either way after an excellent contest between two evenly matched teams.
Court Slayers faced Red Falcons in the third match of the night. Court Slayers produced an impressive attacking display, moving the ball effectively and taking their chances well to record a 26-1 victory. Red Falcons continued to work hard throughout the game and showed plenty of determination despite facing a strong opponent. Both teams demonstrated excellent sportsmanship from start to finish.
The final fixture saw Call The Shots take on We Don't Give A Shot. We Don't Give A Shot delivered a strong all-round performance and controlled the game well, securing a 27-3 victory. Call The Shots continued to compete throughout the match and remained committed until the final whistle, contributing to another positive and enjoyable game.
This week's Most Valued Player award went to Andrea Wrench of Hoop There It Is! Andrea's energy, movement and positive attitude stood out during the evening. Her contribution on and off the court was recognised by fellow players, making her a deserving recipient of the award.
With Week 7 now complete, the league continues to provide teams with plenty of opportunities to enjoy competitive netball, improve their skills and strengthen team connections. As the season progresses, every fixture becomes increasingly important, with teams looking to climb the standings and build consistency in their performances.
Attention now turns to Week 8, where players will once again return to Reaseheath College for another evening of netball. With several teams producing strong performances and a number of closely contested matches taking place each week, there is plenty to look forward to as the season continues.
