An enjoyable evening of social netball unfolded at the Plantsbrook School this past Sunday, marking the ninth week of a season filled with camaraderie and high spirits. The welcoming atmosphere at the court was electric, with players at all levels of experience participating, reveling in the excitement and unity that the game brings.

The first match of the Division 1 group saw the Sutton Ballers take on Hoop There It Is. After a hard-fought game, full of enthusiastic play and great sportsmanship, Hoop There It Is finished with a score of 19 - 13. The match was a delightful showcase of teamwork and commitment from both sides, with each player radiating a positive energy that truly embodied the spirit of social netball.

The second match brought the Sutton Dreamers and the Wildcats together on the court. The game concluded with the Wildcats scoring 23 to the Sutton Dreamers' 6. Despite the score, each team displayed an unwavering spirit and dedication, making the match an enjoyable experience for all involved. The camaraderie on the court was palpable, with both teams demonstrating the true essence of social netball.

A special mention goes out to the Most Valued Player of the week, Jane Hinis of Sutton Dreamers. Jane’s enthusiasm was infectious and her movement around the court was not only admired by her teammates, but also by her opponents. Her positive contribution to the game was appreciated by all, and demonstrated the power and joy of social netball.

As we look ahead to Week 10, we anticipate another exciting evening of friendly social netball, where players will continue to keep active, meet new people, and develop their netball skills in a supportive environment. The spirit of the Back to Netball initiative will live on as we celebrate not just the game, but the community, sportsmanship and friendship that it fosters.
