The Worcester Monday Netball got off to a fantastic start, welcoming in a new season full of energy, teamwork and great competition. Teams across both Division 1 and Division 2 took to the court with enthusiasm, creating an enjoyable evening for players and spectators alike.
In Division 1, Court Queens made a confident start with a 15–8 win over Worcester Sauces, while Goal Bladders also opened their campaign positively, securing a 9–5 victory against Wildcats. Manic Mondays and Hot Shots played out an entertaining match, with Manic Mondays coming through 16–10 in a lively contest.
Division 2 brought just as much excitement, with Worcester Wonders narrowly overcoming No Direction 10–8 in a closely fought game. Worcester Ladies delivered a strong performance to win 17–8 against Perdiswell Shooters, and The Oak Apple Catchers enjoyed a solid 13–5 result against Weakest Link.
A special mention goes to Becki Whiting of The Oak Apple Catchers, whose excellent performance and commitment on the court earned her this week’s Most Valuable Player award. She set a great example with her all-round play and positive impact.
With Manic Mondays leading the scoring in Division 1 and Worcester Ladies doing the same in Division 2, the season is already shaping up nicely. Week 1 has laid a great foundation, and there’s plenty to look forward to as teams continue to build momentum and enjoy their netball in the weeks ahead.
