Play in the Gloucester Sunday You Play Netball League
The Gloucester Sunday Netball League continued this week with the second round of fixtures, as teams returned to the court looking to build on their opening performances. With the season still in its early stages, the focus remained on developing teamwork, settling into positions, and gaining valuable match experience.
Ball Busters and Ball Of Fame met in a fixture that featured plenty of effort and organisation from both sides. Ball Busters were able to make the most of their opportunities and finished the match with a 7–0 win. Ball Of Fame showed determination throughout and continued to work collectively across the court, creating passages of play that will provide a solid foundation for future matches.
The game between Net Ninjas and Goal Diggers proved to be competitive from start to finish. Both teams moved the ball well and applied consistent pressure, resulting in an evenly balanced contest for much of the match. Net Ninjas eventually secured a 10–7 victory, but Goal Diggers remained in contention until the final whistle, demonstrating resilience and strong team spirit.
Although Throw And Go were not involved in a fixture this week, Ellie Mercer was recognised as the most valued player of the round. Her movement, awareness, and contribution in recent matches stood out, and the award acknowledged her positive impact on the court.
Net Ninjas ended the week as the highest-scoring team, recording 10 goals. While results are still beginning to take shape, the early fixtures have provided an encouraging snapshot of the competition, with teams showing steady progress and commitment.
As the season continues, the Gloucester Sunday Netball League will offer further opportunities for teams to refine their play, grow in confidence, and enjoy regular competitive netball in a supportive environment.
