In an exhilarating evening of netball, Week 9 of the Burntwood Wednesday league served up a feast of thrilling battles and unexpected results across divisions 1 and 2.
In Division 1, the Sista Squad outplayed the Swamp Donkeys in an enthralling game, the scoreline reading 14-8. Kiss My Pass, displaying a compelling performance, outpaced the Lightening Strikers, concluding with a 21-14 victory.
The competitive spirit was equally fervent in Division 2. The Chasers, in a steely show of determination, outclassed Hoop Dogz with a 10-4 win. The Pink Ladies added a splash of color to the evening with a vibrant 11-5 win over Hoop There It Is. The Pocket Rockets came out on top against the Netball Ninjas in a nail-biting 9-7 win.
The spotlight, however, shone brightest on Lisa Thomason from Lightening Strikers. Thomason, in a dynamic display of skill and sportsmanship, was named the most valued player of Week 9. Her outstanding contribution to Lightening Strikers, despite the team's loss, was recognized and applauded by all.
The top scorers of the evening came from Kiss My Pass in Division 1 and The Pink Ladies in Division 2, showcasing their scoring prowess and skill in this fast-paced sport.
As the Burntwood Wednesday league moves into its tenth week, these teams continue their quest for glory, undeterred by the results of the previous week.
