The Burntwood Wednesday Netball league kicked off its season last night with nail-biting thrillers and outstanding individual performances. Fans were treated to intense games teeming with skillful shots, strategic defense, and heart-stopping moments.

In the Division 1, Sista Squad dug deep to outpace Burntwood Beaters in a tight contest, edging them 15-12. The match between Lightening Strikers and Kiss My Pass, however, was the highlight of the night with Kiss My Pass eking out a one-point victory in a high scoring 18-17 match. Meanwhile, Shot Callers fell to Swamp Donkeys by a 22 points margin, the highest of the night, ending at 30-8.

Moving to Division 2 action, Pocket Rockets launched their season with an impressive 19-5 victory over Chasers. The match between Hoop There It Is and Hoop Dogz was a low scoring affair with Hoop Dogz squeezing out a 5-3 victory. In the tightly contested game of the evening, The Pink Ladies managed to sneak past Netball Ninjas by a solitary point, winning 5-4.

The star of the week was undoubtedly Emma Hubbard of Cheeky Chasers. Her exceptional performance on the court earned her the title of the Most Valued Player of the week. Her skillful play and leadership were instrumental to the success of her team.

As the season is just beginning, it's clear that the competition is stiff and the teams are ready to give it their all. We look forward to more thrilling matches in the coming weeks.
