In a thrilling kickoff to the new season of the Burntwood Wednesday Netball League, Division 1 and Division 2 teams hit the court with fervor, engaging in fierce competition and showcasing exceptional talent.
In Division 1, Swamp Donkeys outplayed Burntwood Beaters with a well-deserved 19-11 victory. The closely contested match between Sista Squad and Kiss My Pass had spectators at the edge of their seats, with Kiss My Pass clinching a one-point win at 17-16. Shot Callers narrowly triumphed over Lightening Strikers in a nail-biting finish, ending the match at 12-10.
Division 2 saw the Pocket Rockets fly past The Pink Ladies with a staggering 19-4 win. Hoop Dogz marked an impressive victory against the Chasers, closing the game at 12-4. Netball Ninjas dominated the court against Hoop There It Is, with the scoreboard reading a formidable 24-6.
Among the stellar performances, Lucy Wilson of Hoop Dogz was recognized as the week's Most Valued Player, demonstrating exceptional prowess and sportsmanship on the court.
As the season has just started, the league witnessed some high-scoring games, setting a high bar for future matches. In Division 1, Swamp Donkeys led with a top score of 19, while in Division 2, Netball Ninjas set the pace with an impressive score of 24.
