In the latest round of fixtures in the Newark Tuesday Social Netball League at Newark Academy, teams gathered once again to showcase their skills and sportsmanship. Despite the absence of We Got Game, the remaining teams put on an impressive display of competitive netball.
The highlight of the evening was the intense showdown between Three Second Sweeties and Newark Ninjas, which ended with a narrow 11-10 victory for the Ninjas. Caitlin Briggs delivered a standout performance for the Ninjas, earning her the Player of the Match award. The closely contested match could have swung either way, demonstrating the high level of competition in the league.
In another exciting matchup, League Queens secured a hard-fought 10-7 victory against Fast But Not Furious. Sarah Hewerdine-Miller from Fast But Not Furious displayed exceptional determination and effort throughout the match, earning her the Player of the Match recognition. Despite the loss, Fast But Not Furious showcased their resilience and competitive spirit on the court.
Clock Stoppers emerged victorious with an 8-4 win against Some Like It Shot, with Gina Guild delivering an outstanding performance despite being on the losing team. Guild's impressive display highlighted the individual talent present in the league.
Pivot Like Its Hot rounded off the evening with a 5-0 victory, further solidifying their position in the league standings.
With Newark Ninjas extending their unbeaten streak to five matches, they now sit comfortably at the top of the table, three points clear of second place. Three Second Sweeties, who suffered their first defeat of the season, remain close behind in the standings. The competitive nature of the league promises more thrilling matchups and exciting moments as the season progresses.
