It was an enjoyable week of netball in Stratford Upon Avon on Thursday evening, with teams taking to the court and delivering some closely contested matches. Week seven brought a number of strong performances and well-earned results.
D Linquents secured a narrow 14–12 win over Vale Queens in a competitive and evenly matched game. Both sides demonstrated good teamwork and thoughtful play throughout, but D Linquents managed to edge ahead in the closing stages.
The Shooters produced a confident display against Meon Mermaids, coming away with a 16–7 victory. Their teamwork and consistent shooting accuracy made the difference on the night.
Meon Warriors also enjoyed a positive result, overcoming The Chillies 21–8. They played with energy and composure, moving the ball well and finishing their chances effectively. The Chillies, despite the result, showed determination and had several promising passages of play.
This week’s Most Valued Player was Yvonne Davis of The Chillies. Her strong defensive work, interceptions, and movement across the court stood out and earned her well-deserved recognition.
Meon Warriors recorded the highest score of the week, reflecting their organised attacking play and steady performance.
As the season moves into week eight, teams will be looking to build on their efforts and continue developing their play. With each match bringing something different, there is plenty to look forward to in the weeks ahead.
