The opening night of the Saffron Walden Sunday Social Netball League got underway a few days ago, and what a fantastic turnout it was. A big thank you to everyone who attended and made it such an enjoyable evening—you were all great sports!

Every match was full of fun, laughter, and energy, with plenty of exercise.

We did have a couple of last-minute cancellations, so a special thanks goes to those players who stepped in to help out—it was hugely appreciated.

Just a reminder: if you’re ever short of a player because one of your regulars can’t attend, you’re welcome to bring along a friend, colleague, or family member to fill in. If you’re still stuck, we can help find an extra player from our singles list—we regularly have individuals keen to get involved. You can also post in the Facebook Players Lounge, which connects you with everyone in the league if you’re short for a week. If you haven’t joined yet, please do!

Please remember to check your fixtures each week on our website- we set these in advance so you can plan ahead with ease. As always, remember to arrive at least 5–10 minutes before your start time. 

Finally, a quick safety reminder for all players: nails must be kept short (or gloves worn), rings and piercings should be taped, and watches removed. Some Fitbit-style watches with rubber straps are acceptable, but certain raised Apple Watches are not. If an umpire asks you to remove any item, this is for everyone’s safety, and all players are expected to comply.
